I found a story called "A Breath of Coyote." This story is about a boy walking in the woods and he heard the singing of a whippoorwill. The boy tries to go looking for the whippoorwill. Then a coyote was in front of the boy and the coyote wondered why the boy was following him. The boy told the coyote it was because he wanted to hear the whippoorwill. The coyote told the boy that he could take him to the whippoorwill. The boy agreed to follow the coyote, which was a mistake. The coyote led the boy through rough areas with thorns and thick brush. The boy was not as fast as the coyote and the boy began to fall and cut himself on the thorns. The boy eventually got to the spot where he heard the whippoorwill but the whippoorwill was no longer there. When the boy grew up he realized that people need to stay true to their path and not let anyone make you go off course.
I chose this because I think that many people do get thrown off course by modern day "coyotes." People always tell you what to do and how to do it, but sometimes you have to decide what to do for yourself.

hey Mike! i like your story! I did the same one, and i agree with your thought of this sotry and the moral 100% I think that you really do need to see things through your own eyes and experience things yourself in order to get the true meaning of life. You cant have people telling you how to do things because it won't be the true person inside. Awesome job though!
ReplyDeleteI think you chose a good story. I like the lesson of this story because it happens a lot in modern-day life. It is interesting to relate to stories like this.
